What can I expect while starting Gluten Free?

I was diagnosed with Celiac this past week after being referred to a GI dr by my Rheumatologist for my frequently elevated liver enzymes over the last 15 years. He ran a complete workup on me , including celiac panels, Hep C, liver, etc (the lab drew about 10 vials of blood!) I was shocked when I got a call telling me I had celiac based on the labs. I asked about a small intestine biopsy and was told they usually only do that when the lab result is borderline…mine was not. I have a great number of other autoimmune issues (Fibromyalgia, RA, Sjogren’s, Grave’s Disease, Thyroid Eye Disease….) so I guess I should not have been that surprised. I have been off gluten only for a few days but am wondering what to expect as far as whether I am likely to have any “withdrawal” type symptoms, anything typical of the body goes thru while getting back to normal, how long it is likely to take before I start to feel better, etc. I have an appointment to see a dietician in about 2 weeks (the soonest they could get me in) but I am one of those people who needs to know what is going on as I go so 2 weeks will feel like 2 years in limbo. There is a lot of info on diets and recipes and general info on the disease on the internet, but not a lot of info on ‘recovery” times that I can find.
