Kirsten fell ill with systemic JIA (Still's disease) shortly after beginning kindergarten. Over the last 20 years, she has been diagnosed with several more conditions including Sjogren's and fibromyalgia. She began blogging six years ago in order to research and explain issues pertaining to Still's to her now-fiance and fell in love with health activism. She currently lives in Wisconsin where she is planning her wedding and taking her health activism to new levels with the help of several organizations. She is the creator and blogger of Not Standing Still's Disease and A Very Spoonie Wedding, chronicling several girls' journeys planning their weddings while living with chronic illness.
Theron met Kirsten during his senior year of college. Before meeting her, he never really knew anyone with a chronic illness. He never set out to be a health activist, but does all he can to support Kirsten and the causes she champions. He currently works for the state of Wisconsin and patiently lives with a budding bridezilla. While Kirsten's condition may be chronic, he certainly thinks she's "acute!"
